“When there is a will, there is a way.” Says Karolin.
Read on more of what Karolin has to say, a stay at home mum turns eco product producer:
“I love the idea of recycling simple chip wrapper or magazine paper that is usually thrown away to create a functional, usable and fashionable purse. I also love the idea of seeing other people carrying a purse that once was just a few magazine pages or some chip wrappers. I am aware that our planet has limited resources and if everyone recycles their used products this could extend the life of the resources by ten folds while keeping our eco-system healthy for our future generations and at the same time hopping for technology to create new ways to manufacture products without the excess pollution.
I must say that there were lot of struggles at the early stages having to do all the research and development on my own. As I am a mother of three, time is really tight to me, managing my limited time to learn to market the products, figuring out what cliental would be interested in and what specific sizes and details, learning about the process of assembling products and how to sell them on selling platforms are all new challenges to me.
My family supports me 100% and have offered me a great hand while I need the time to concentrate on business activities. The bonus that comes along is my kids are learning about business too by seeing me working on my purses. I share my joyous experience with them every time I sell one and make progress in my little business. All hard works paid off as my little one (two years old, back then) saying “Yay mammy! I’m so proud of you!”
Although I was working as an accountant back in Guatemala years ago and have later gained my Dental Assistant Licence, also an Art and Association Degree in the US, right now I have realized the importance of teaching about recycle to our little ones and adults. With a little bit of money and a lot of imagination I was able to start my own green business. I love the saying that says “When there is a will, there is a way” Add passion to what you do and you will enjoy what you do. In the future, I would love to be able to generate jobs for other moms that stay at home and would like to have their own business like me. I have been home for 10 years and I love it, I love even more the idea of being able to take care of my own children and work from home. It is not easy but it can be done with a passionate dream.”

The world would be much better if every one of us could just think of one idea like Karolin or just one idea of what we can do every day to help to prolong the lifespan of the resources that mother earth have given to us.
Perhaps start with not wasting food and saving a little bit of water and electric city a day? Or start making our own gift cards by recycling papers? So many ideas and it is really, your choice.
