The sweetest thing that you might be looking for! Is possibly free

Hi everyone,

Ever since I am in this creative business I have learned so much and I am really having a lot of fun here.

To create something is really what I love especially when it is beautiful and pretty.

So, I have decided that on every wednesday, is going to be freebies day!! I just want to share with you my passion in creating, photographing and jewelry making and putting different beautiful things together.

I snap this beautiful colorful picture while I was out at a shopping mall that have this little stall selling hydrogen ice cream. If you know what it is. :)

The ice cream is made with blending hydrogen gas together with all of these premix ice cream liquid. Don't ask me if it it is safe to have eat them, but it is surely delicious.

Here I have made a facebook banner out from the picture I snapped while I am waiting for my ice cream.

It is in jpg format and you can just download it here and add in your own words. I have left it blank.

So sweet ~~~~

I hope you like it~~

See you again next wednesday~~

Til then,

Maggie.

How to create line spaces or white background on Instagram profile photos

As I was browsing on others lovely profile, I found that some of their profile photos actually has spacing.  All their beautiful photos are on a white background too. Their photos appears in all type of sizes instead of just one square box.

It is frustrating because no matter what, you just have to crop your beautiful landscape photo into a square box.

Good news, here's the simple solution, I am doing on my Samsung Note 3, should work for everyone too.

1. Go to play store, or sometimes it is call apps store.

2. Enter 'no crop' in search.

3. Click and install 'No Crop for instagram'.

4. After done installing, open 'no crop' and you will see the homepage.

If you are using photo from your phone memory, just click gallery to find the photo you want to use.

If not, you can shoot one photo using no crop camera.

5. I am choosing from my gallery here.

6. Pick the photo you want to use.

7.  And it will appear on no crop like this one here, There are also a whole lot of photo editing features that you can use to edit your photo.

It was kind of fun to me playing with all those effects. :)

8. To adjust photo sizes, I just shrink it right from the touch screen on my smart phone.

Click on the star wand and you will see different photo effects.

9. I choose the Lomo here, em... not bad huh... Choose your favorite effect and, click the share icon.

10. Click on instagram if you want to share instantly or click save to share later.

11. This is how your pic looks like on instagram with a white background. Click on the blue arrow to continue.

12. Then, you will be on the editing page on Instagram now. I will normally skip editing and head straight to sharing as I have already edited earlier on.

13. Delete the auto caption and add in your own descriptive caption here. Of course, all your related hash-tags too. :)

14. You are done! Isn't that easy? Here's my profile with all different sizes of photographs and a white background.

You could use No Crop to create a background color too, you might want to consider using one single color for all photos to create a cohesive Instagram profile.

Let me know if this work for you. :)

Happy trying out your new app. You can follow me on instagram too:

How to Clean Silver with Kitchen Ingredients

Cleaning silver is much easier than you thought, there are so many ways of cleaning it and removing tarnishes from it with ingredients that you can find in your kitchen.

Here is one of the method which is safe and chemical free.

What you need:

1. A glass bowl.

2. White Vinegar

3. Baking Powder

4. Salt.

5. Aluminium Foil

6. Wooden or plastic spoon (something that you can pick your jewelries up)

HERE ARE THE STEPS:

1. Wrap the glass bowl with aluminium foil.

2. Place all your silver jewelry into the bowl.

3. Sprinkle baking soda so generously that you cover up all your silver jewelries.

4. Sprinkle about half a tea spoon of salt evenly on top of your jewelries.

5. Pour boiling hot water into the bowl, don't worry, your silver jewelries are sturdy enough to stand the heat.

6. Add a table spoon of vinegar in the mixture.

7. Stir the mixture with some wooden spoon or fork. I'm using chop sticks here, which is perfect for me.

8. I will normally leave it there for half an hour before returning  to check on it progress. If a piece has been tarnished badly, you may have to repeat the whole process for few times.

9. Rinse well with warm water to remove all residues, you may like to use a soft bristle tooth brush here to help to clean up what is left on your silver.

10. Pad dry with cotton and apply a thin layer of olive oil which will help to prevent tarnishing.

NOT ADVISABLE to clean your patina silver jewelries with this method as it will have the whole piece turn white inclusive of all the highlighted details.

Happy trying out. :)

DIY Lighting Board

I have decided to share this cool project as I find this pretty useful especially to home based Artisan.

We often take photos of what we made and constantly bettering our photo shooting skills. That's to make sure we gave all our hard work a piece of justice when captured. :D

A lighting board will comes in handy especially you are shooting small objects.

Bonus here: the cost of making this yourself are less than USD10.

Here's what you need:

1. Some hard board (I'm using chip board here)
2. Aluminium Foil
3. Clear tapes

STEPS:

1. Cut enough amount of aluminium foil that is bigger than your board.

2. Wrap up the aluminum foil at all 4 corners.

3. Cut some clear tapes.

4. Tape and secure all 4 corners.

5. There, it is done! I have made 2 indeed.

After shooting using this DIY lighting boards, I find that it is better to use 2 same size lighting board that the lights will be more even on the photographs. I will have to make one more now.

Hope you enjoy this project and have help you!

Follow me on to the next post to see how to shoot better picture for small object.

Autumn is Here

Having been fortunate enough to live in the UK for 2 years, I have experienced the 4 season changes whereas in my country, we only have one, which is summer. Some of you must be jealous about this right now, LOL..

To me, I see Autumn as a change in both nature and weather. The green turns brown and you will smell the wood more and more in the air.

Here's one of the handpicked fall gift list I have made after I joined Etsy, a cool platform for handmade artisan like me. :)

Hope you enjoy this:
