INSPIRATIONAL STORY #1 The story of Nydia Cavazos and her team
Nydia and her team specialized in creating Alebrijie. An Alebrije is a brightly colored Mexican folk art sculpture of fantastical creatures.
This is what happened to Nydia and her inspirations of her art, which is the rare and valueble Mexican folk Art.
"Miracles happen. It all started when I was going through really hard times with my family. I always pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe and Virgin Mary and this time, a miracle happened, my little baby niece with only 25 weeks of life lived through a very rough labor, heart (very little heart) surgery, brain hemorrhage and 3 months in the ICU. A miracle indeed.
So, not that I needed an image, but I really wanted a unique piece of either Guadalupe or Mary (they are actually the same but Guadalupe is the Mexican representation of Mary) since I was soon moving away from home.
Soon, I realized that, like me, there must be many of us outside looking for either something to represent that someone we pray to or thank for, or maybe just something to show someone we care and love them. Maybe that someone is our-self, maybe our mom, our partner, our friend.
Arbolito came from these thoughts and is built by the hands of skilled artisans that are also the best people. Arbolito is here to be that place that works with the best Artisan Masters from Mexico to bring the best designs and handcrafted artwork to all homes." -Nydia

I did not come across Mexican Folk Art myself before meeting Nydia, I thank her for opening my eye to different cultures and this very precious form of Art.
