How to make great pictures!

Lately, I have really been spending more time in committing to this blog, to make it better and more valuable.
As a 'create' freak, most time are spend on creating something, that's inclusive of hand-making the jewelries, taking photos and arranging them in a better ways. Yes I say better, knowing that some other better ways will be available in the future soon.

After been in taking jewelry photos for some time now, I have a few tips to share here that you can also take some wonderful pictures.

Investing in a good camera are important. The one I am using here is Panasonic LX5 as it can actually shoot very closed up image up to 1mm. And, certainly a digital camera works well for me here that almost everything are automated, just switch a button and you can shoot in different mode. Magic.....

Pre-arrange background for photo shooting session. Think of what kind of mood you like to bring out from the end result, (important) think about it way in advance before you start. Next, test it out.

For this series of jewelries, the vintage range, I have pick up some wooden objects like picture frames, cork board and home decor as background. They don't have to expansive though, I paid only RM5 for each items from Daiso. :)) So, do check out on your local supplies store.

Like dishes serves at fine dining restaurant too, garnishing it counts. I have a dried leaf here to garnish. (recyclable) You may have seen this leaf appear again and again on the photos I took.

Use photo editor to group or edit your photos. Place all the same designs or range in 1 photo. You might not have to fill every single image columns up with your pictures, leaving it blank or fill it with other prints will makes it looks more breathable and interesting though.

I am only using picmonkey basic here, which is really a great tool. If you found something else, do share with me.
